Batteries drain in 2 days with no use.

Postby stevozz » Wed Nov 12, 2008 5:36 pm

I recently bought an older 1990 36v club car . I use a lestronic 2 charger and plug in the cart for an over night charge when I will be using it the next day, it runs great with no problems. But if I dont use the cart after a night of charging after just 2 days of sitting the batteries are very very low again and they need a four hr charge.... I have tested the batteries and they are good, I also changed 3 older cables and cleaned all the terminals but it has made little difference. Any help would be appreciated...tia

no lights on the cart but I tested the batteries with a hygrometer and all batteries read in the good range......I may just have to bit the bullet and buy a new set of batteries......tia

What indication do you have that the batteries are low? Are you taking voltage readings, or is it based on the fact that you plug it in 2 days later and it charges for 4 hours?

If you are going to keep the cart and agree to maintain them regularly I would recommend Trojan T-105 batteries. They are the best out there. If you aren't gonna maintain them, buy anything you can for less money.
