American Pride Golf Car Lost high speed forward.

Postby TD Dean » Tue Feb 27, 2007 3:51 pm

Installed 6 new 6V batteries, cleaned contacts/connections, adjusted (tightened) turnbuckle connecting brake cable to wheels: Lost forward high speed, low speed forward accelerator petal extremely sensitive w/total loss of current for forward at aprox. 1/2 inch depression. Reverse works fine, full petal w/no loss of current. Any/all help appreciated to get high speed back. Thanks in advance.

Number of solinoids

Tom,
On the schematic, there is one (1) solenoid. The speed control is described as: \"36 volt - 6 battery resister speed control. This is for forward only. Reverse is: \"36 volt - 6 battery solid state speed control low power reverse. The schematic shows three (3) resisters preceeded on both ends by micro switches. I wonder if when I adjusted the cable I went by a limit switch on one of the micro switches? Again, thanks in advance for your help.

Tom, I had a local repair shop investigate. They replaced one component with a look-alike from a Harley Cart. It may not be quite as fast but it now moves forward. Thanks for your reply.
