FASTER IN REVERSE THAN FORWARD

I have a 1984 DS Club Car Electric that I cleaned up battery post & installed new 2 guage cables on over the weekend - charged up batteries but I am finding that I am not going as fast as it used to - it moves pretty quick in reverse but just not as fast in forward gear - I double checked wiring & all is good - any help would be greatly appreciated.

how many solenoids? 1 or 5 ? if 5 chances are you have a few bad ones...........................................................
